No time to write a blog? You need a blog writer

You probably hear all the time that you should blog. And I'm sure you agree. But where on Earth can you find the time! After all you have a business to run and you're not a professional blog writer!

Blogging has become a major marketing tool. Unfortunately to be effective, you must blog often. And it's not unusual for some businesses to employ blog writers, or content writers to produce daily posts (click blogger to read my regular blog). But why do they bother?

3 reasons why blogging is valuable

1: Blogging can improve your Google ranking

One of the best ways to improve your website's Google ranking is to produce regular content — gone are the days when a website could be static and still remain competitive. Achieving a following for your blog, which in turn, leads people to your website, is a good indication to Google's algorithm that your site has authority and is, therefore, worth ranking.

2: Blogging promotes you as an expert in your field

When you write blogs on topics related to your business, you demonstrate your expertise and build a reputation as a leader in your field. Even though a blog should never be "salesy”, rather a great source of information, it is still a wonderfully subtle way to promote your business.

3: Blogging shows how you add value

Just like a case study, blogs demonstrate what your goods and services can do and why people should do business with you.

You are convinced. Blogs are great. But you still don't have the time! Here is where I can help. It’s simple.

How often should you blog?

For blogs to be effective you need to blog regularly. This could mean anywhere from once a month to once or twice a week. Obviously, this is easier said than done. And blogs shouldn't be written for the sake of it. If you produce rubbish, you may as well not bother at all.

I prefer not to write one-off blog posts — blogging should be on-going. And you’ll find the more I understand your business, the more useful the blogs will be to your customers.

So, for those serious about blogging, I offer a five-blog package. Here is what you get:

1: An extensive interview over the phone or Skype

During this interview we will choose five topics to write about. I will gather much of the information I’ll need to write your blogs. I’ll ask questions like:

  • How do you add value?
  • How are you different to your competitors?
  • Who are your customers?
  • What problems do your customers face?

If you are based in Auckland, I can interview you in person for an additional cost.

2: Plan a publishing schedule & marketing strategy

Producing regular blogs isn’t enough. You also need to publish and market them. We will discuss a publishing schedule and how to promote your blogs.

3: Keyword research

I will research and identify keywords to use in your blogs. I will then produce a keyword report.

4: Write 5 blog posts

I will then write five blogs of between 400 and 500 words on your chosen topics. They will be supplied to you in a Word document. At this point you can make any required changes. There is no additional cost for the first round of changes.
